Queenstown Romantic Accommodation
Let Queenstown be your romantic destination this year.
The Highview Apartments in Queenstown are a popular choice for couples seeking romantic Queenstown accommodation. With a handy location, just five minutes walk from the heart of Queenstown, and gorgeous views from the balcony or courtyard of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain Range we can tick the big boxes. We offer warm, comfortable and stylish studio, one and two bedroom accommodation, but we know that the sweet spot for guests wishing to romance Queenstown will enjoy our one bedroom apartments.
The one bedroom apartments have uninterrupted views over the lake and to help turn the notch up on cosiness, have heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom, and a gas fireplace in the living area.
For winter lovers, the snowfields will play a major part in your day activities. Our amenities have thoughtfully included a drying and secure storage room for wet weather and snow gear. This means the living areas remain uncluttered of gear, your outerwear will be dry in the morning, and equipment is safely and securely stored. Our private outdoor spa for guests is an ideal way to gently soothe post-ski field aches, and relax for the evening.
Whether your plans include preparing romantic dinners at the apartment, or dining out, you have the flexibility to choose. Our fully self-contained apartment accommodation comes with fully equipped kitchens includes all cutlery, cookware, utensils and crockery. Otherwise, downtown Queenstown is a five-minute stroll with a smorgasbord of bars and restaurants to choose from.
If you are after a quieter night out, there are a few places you can go to have a quiet drink or an intimate dinner. Bardeaux or Eichardt's Bar are two excellent places to start. Bardeaux is a cosy little bar beside the lake with a roaring fireplace, and a superb wine list. Attentive but unobtrusive service keeps your attention on the evening. Eichardt's Bar provides a delightfully intimate rendezvous, with delicious New Zealand-styled tapas and wines from local vineyards to match.
Queenstown Restaurants
There is no shortage of good restaurants in Queenstown, but here are half a dozen establishments that we consider the pick of Central Otago. We like them, and we hope you will enjoy our recommendations too.
- Rata is the brainchild of Michelin-starred chef Josh Emett and highly regarded local restauranteur Fleur Caulton. A relaxed and unhurried eating house serving a menu that packs robust yet balanced flavours. Rata's menu has a simplicity and elegance that belies its sophistication and character.
- Roaring Megs is one of Queenstown’s original fine dining establishments. Able to cater for an intimate dinner for two, or a family night out. Don’t miss their “Rack of Canterbury Lamb”. It’s world famous.
- Botswana Butchery — if you could eat the hind legs off a horse this is where you would do it. Presented in finer cuts of course. Carnivores will find their happy place here.
- The Bunker is your complete nightlife venue offering a restaurant, cocktail/late night bar. Start and finish your night out here.
- Lombardi — oversized chairs in front of a roaring fireplace with delicious food and wine to match.
- Yakitori Daruma Japanese Sake Bar Restaurant — far from being quiet, this is a fun bar with entertainment from the chef at the Japanese grill. Watch your meal prepared in front of you. Flame grilled!
